Maria Yrsa Rönneus
Biography
Artist and author, Maria Yrsa Rönneus tells feel-good stories rooted in romance, humor, and authentic history.
After art college, she went on to take philosophy, literature, English and creative writing at university. Motley experiences working as a cabbie, prison guard, teacher, carer, lay judge, and elected municipality representative, provide a wealth of material to create realistic and relatable characters. Other influences come from Scandinavian folklore as well as classic stories and authors. Maria is currently writing on her 9th novel while running a graphic design business.
Her idea of a good time usually involves digging — either through dusty archives, or a new vegetable patch. She also enjoys watching the stars, smelling the roses, and annihilating her husband at backgammon. She shares her home and garden in the south of Sweden with her husband and a mischief of magpies.
