Ilana Estelle

Biography

"For me life hasn’t always made sense, particularly because I have been navigating the world with unanswered questions and unexplained struggles. It wasn’t until I was 46 that I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, later discovering that I had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of two – a truth that had been kept from me. It has become the catalyst for everything that followed.

At the point of also being diagnosed with autism, the pieces of my life began to fall into place. I have found my voice through writing. That’s how The CP Diary began. I needed a place to make sense of my experiences, to work through the emotions, and to explore what it means to live with hidden disabilities.

My writing is my purpose, I am grateful and thankful to have it. Through my blog and my books – Cerebral Palsy: A Story – Finding the Calm After the Storm, Spirituality, Healing and Me, and Survival: The COVID Years – Time for Change – I share my thoughts on health, wellbeing, and what it means to keep evolving. I was given little choice.

I have always believed in the power of self-awareness, in learning from life’s challenges, and in using my voice to bring about understanding and change. I write not just to heal, but to help others find clarity and comfort in their own lives, on their own journeys.

This is my life, still unfolding. And I’m grateful to share it with you."
