L. E. Bendon

Biography

L. E. Bendon is the pen name of a British/Irish musician who turned the large amount of free time forced upon creative professionals in 2020 into an opportunity to try his hand at a writing.

His debut novel, The Weapon and the Fruit: Four and Twenty Blackboards, a whodunnit set in contemporary West London, in which a quirky barefoot Australian P.I. works with local police to solve the locked room murder of a primary school teacher was published in January 2025, with its sequel, The Weapon and the Fruit: Any Body Can Murder to follow in the summer.

As well as further installments in this detective deries, there are plans for forays into other genres, with his next two planned novels best described as fantasy stories, but with tongue planted firmly in cheek, and plenty of the wit and humour inspired by legendary British authors such as Terry Pratchett and Ben Elton, along with the puzzle creation of Agatha Christie and the grit of Mark Billingham.

Bendon sometimes based in the UK, and sometimes in India. He speaks a few languages, plays a few instruments and proudly holds the distinction of receiving back multiple books that he had lent to friends, but the best way to get to know him is through his characters, as he has chopped himself up and scattered the pieces across them.
